Junior PhD position (temporal)

Workplace: Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), Porto, Portugal.

Activities to be developed in the framework of the PROFIT project (https://itea4. org/project/profit. html):

• Implement optimization and evaluation strategies for intelligent workflows,
  - driven clinical and operational protocols to improve the efficiency of health services.
• Collect, manage and analyse health services data using data analysis software and databases, including data validation, data normalization and integration of data from different sources, defining appropriate strategies to deal with all ethical and privacy/security requirements.
• Develop and implement methodologies for the analysis of health services data, including the selection of appropriate techniques for the development and validation of predictive models.
• Perform a review of scientific literature on approaches and methodologies for integrating and visualizing health services data, data quality representation and evaluation, data analysis and predictive modelling in the project's use cases.
• Support in the planning and execution of the project in the technical, scientific and dissemination aspects.

General admission requirements:

National, foreign and stateless candidates who have held a Ph
D degree (from or recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution) for no more than 5 years, in Health Data Science, Clinical Research or Health Services, Medicine, Health Sciences or related areas and who hold a scientific and professional curriculum in the scientific area of this call and who reveal an appropriate profile for the activities to be developed, may be opponents to the competition in accordance with point 8 of this Notice.

Special admission requirements:

• Experience in data science applied to health.
• Experience in writing scientific articles in health.
