About Marionete

We’re a tech consultancy that builds real systems for Financial Services and Insurance across the UK, Nordics and Iberia. Our Academy Programme is a dedicated graduate track pairing deep engineering craft with immersive, bootcamp style learning. At Marionete you’ll deploy resilient data/event platforms, experiment with generative AI and shape the next generation of financial tech.

Location: Our Academy is based in Lisbon, applicants should be within a commutable distance of our
- centre office.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

• Build & operate
  - native systems: design
  - driven architectures (Kafka, stream processing), APIs, microservices and serverless functions.
• Experiment with AI/ML: prototype LLM-backed agents, integrate generative pipelines, automate insights in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate & build: work in Agile teams to implement
  - native components, demo working prototypes, and drive peer code reviews.
• Learn & mentor: follow a structured Academy curriculum (bootcamps, hack days,
  - bags), take part in code reviews, and get guidance from senior architects.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

• Recent graduate or
  - career professional in software or data engineering field, ready to roll up your sleeves and ship code.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or similar.
• Comfortable in Java or Scala or. Net (or keen to dive in).
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Fluent in English and confident engaging with teammates.
• A natural problem solver with an insatiable curiosity for new tech.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

• Early
  - on with generative AI: LLM agents, Lang
  Chain pipelines or similar
• Hands-on with Kafka, stream processing (Flink, Kinesis) or
  - time event stores
• Familiarity with IAAS/PAAS (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to MLOps or CI/CD tooling (Git
  Hub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform)
• Practiced Agile ceremonies:
  - ups, retros, backlog grooming
