Laboratory Technician Lisboa

The Polytechnic Institute of Lusophony (IPLUSO) is a private higher education polytechnic institution comprising six organic units (polytechnic schools) and a research unit (research centre). ERISA (Escola Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sanches), one of IPLUSO’s organic units, through the Talent Management Office, intends to recruit a Laboratory Technician.

Activities

• Carry out technical support and management activities in the laboratories
• Provide support for the teaching of practical laboratory classes and other
  - based activities
• Ensure laboratory equipment is kept in perfect working order by performing the necessary maintenance operations and reporting any anomalies and/or need for external intervention
• Handle the reception of equipment, reagents, and measuring/testing instruments
• Organise and manage laboratory material resources
• Store reagents in accordance with chemical incompatibility guidelines in the laboratory reagent warehouse
• Draft documents related to the laboratories’ Quality Management System and support applications
• Record

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related fields
• Proven professional experience and laboratory practice
• Knowledge of normative references – ISO 9001 and ISO 17025
• Proficiency in IT tools at user level, particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of the online platform for laboratory material order management – Laborders
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment and critical thinking

Conditions

Fixed-term employment contract of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, from 08:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. and from 1:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m.
