We're turning experimental autonomy into structured, safe, and certifiable flight behaviour.
Your Mission
Lead the design and validation of our autonomy stack — from perception and planning to
- making and certification.
You'll work
- on with PX4, ROS2, and Jetson platforms to make aerial robotics safe above water.
You Will
- Architect and implement the
autonomy stack
(planning, mission management, degraded modes). - Integrate
SLAM and obstacle maps
into
- time decision logic. - Validate behaviour through
structured flight tests and log analysis
. - Collaborate on
SORA / BVLOS certification
with regulatory teams. - Mentor engineers and help define the autonomy culture at Hertel.
You Bring
MSc/Ph
D in Robotics, Computer Engineering, or similar.
Years experience in UAV autonomy (PX4 / ROS2).
Strong in
C++ / Python, control, planning, estimation.
Hands-on with
Jetson or onboard compute systems
.
Understanding of
BVLOS / EASA SORA
is a plus.
