About Porto and the position

Within the Group IT Department (Front Office IS), we are launching the modernization of our BI ecosystem by building a Modern Data Platform based on Microsoft Fabric. The goal is to move from a legacy BI system to a modern, scalable, and
- driven architecture. We are looking for the first key member of the Data team, who will play a strategic role in setting up best practices and ensuring the success of this program.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the initial MVP of the Modern Data Platform on Fabric, ensuring that the core architecture and governance principles are in place;
• Lead the migration of critical BI reports and datasets from the legacy system to the new platform, while defining and implementing a comprehensive data governance and quality framework;
• Set up CI/CD pipelines to industrialize data workflows and reporting processes, ensuring scalability and reliability;
• Act as the technical reference for all
  - related initiatives within the Group, laying the groundwork for future expansion and innovation.

Technical Skills

• Experience: 6+ years in Data Engineering, with significant experience on Azure;
• Cloud & Data Platform: Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory), Fabric (ideally);
• BI & Visualization: Power BI (expert level);
• Data Architecture: Lakehouse concepts, BI modeling, MDM;
• Programming Languages: Python (mandatory), SQL (advanced), and one data engineering language (e. g. , Py
  Spark, Scala, or. NET for Fabric);
• CI/CD & Dev
  Ops: Best practices for pipeline industrialization;
• Bonus: Experience with Fabric, BI transformation projects, Dev
  Ops culture;
