Lead DevOps Engineer Lisboa

Overview

Job summary: My client is a start up in the aerospace industry looking for a Lead Dev
Ops Engineer with a Software Engineering background.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a proven leader with maturity, discipline, and deep technical expertise based in the Lisbon area. Fluency in Portuguese is not required. The candidate should be based in Lisbon and available to work from the Cascais Airport office several times per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development teams (currently 5 backend engineers).
• Report directly to the CEO and act as the main link between the executive board and the development team.
• Define clear direction and plans for the next 1, 2, 6, and 12 months; stabilize and organize the current team before any growth (no expansion expected for at least 6 months).
• Design and manage complex software architectures with a deep understanding of redundancy and stability in
  - critical systems.
• Hands-on leadership style, motivate experienced engineers while maintaining discipline.
• Manage Dev
  Ops and server configuration (estimated ~40% of time).
• Serve as Project Manager for all
  - related initiatives.
• Enforce development quality standards, ensuring work is
  - ready before completion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading backend development teams.
• Proven experience in designing and managing complex software architectures.
• Expert-level knowledge of Java.
• Strong background in Dev

• Ability to define direction and plans for
  - month horizons (1, 2, 6, 12 months).
• Deep understanding of redundancy and stability in
  - critical systems.
