Purpose of Role:

To provide individualized,
-
- one support for a student with special educational needs within the main classroom. The LSA will implement
- based strategies to help the student achieve academic, social, and behavioral goals as outlined in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the identified student in accessing lessons, activities, and resources within the main classroom.

• Adapt and explain lesson content where necessary, reinforcing teacher instructions to ensure understanding.

• Encourage and promote student independence, resilience, and confidence in learning.

• Monitor and track the student's progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher.

• Assist with differentiation of learning materials under teacher guidance.

• Foster positive behavior, engagement, and participation in classroom activities.

• Provide emotional and social support, helping the student build positive relationships with peers.

• Liaise with the classroom teacher, SEN/Inclusion staff, and parents (where appropriate) to share updates and strategies.

• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the welfare of the student at all times.

Requirements:

• Education Background: Special Needs Education, Psychology, or Neuropsychology.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Portuguese is strongly preferred, depending on the needs of the assigned student.
• Certification/Training: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: experience providing

  - one support for children with special needs is preferred.
• Additional experience working with ADHD or Autism Spectrum is highly valued.

• Strong understanding of SEN and inclusive education practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and consistency in working with children.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Working Hours:

• Option A: 08:30 – 14:00
• Option B: 08:30 – 17:30
