The opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join our General Counsel Office (GCO) at EY. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice and support to various business units, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while helping to mitigate legal risks.

Your key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to safeguard the organization’s interests.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization and advise on necessary actions.
• Support training initiatives to promote legal awareness and compliance across the organization.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the EY community through proactive legal advice within the globally integrated GCO function.

Skills and attributes for success

• Law degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal role, preferably
  - house or within a corporate legal department.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a
  - paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
• Flexible attitude.
• Insurance background helpful but not mandatory.
• Curious mindset and ability to quickly understand complex technical issues.
• Full proficiency in English.
