Contract Librarian in Almada

As a Contract Librarian in Almada, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining library materials, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library resources and services. Responsibilities:

1. Organize and classify library materials according to established systems
2. Assist patrons with locating materials and conducting research
3. Promote library resources and services through outreach programs and events
4. Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics and inventory
5. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and making recommendations to patrons
6. Stay updated on current trends in literature to make relevant recommendations to patrons
7. Collaborate with other librarians to develop new programs or services
8. Keep library space clean, tidy, and welcoming for patrons

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
2. Knowledge of classification systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of people
4. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
5. Proactive problem solver who can work independently as well as part of a team
6. Ability to adapt quickly in a
   - paced environment
7. Flexibility in working hours including evenings and weekends
8. Fluency in English (knowledge of Portuguese is a plus)

Salary:

This is a contract position paying $1800 per month.
