Linux Data Operations Engineer (Relocation To Belgium)
We are looking for a Linux Data Operations Engineer who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in Brussels, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Pipeline Operations:
- Manage and maintain Linux-based data pipelines, ensuring efficient and accurate data flows.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automating data processing, transformation, and loading tasks.
- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data workflows and enhance data quality.
2. Job Scheduling and Release Management:
- Create, schedule, and manage jobs using Control-M to guarantee timely data processing and delivery.
- Plan and execute release management activities in coordination with the planning team.
- Monitor job execution, analyze logs, troubleshoot job failures, and ensure data integrity.
3. Incident Management:
- Identify and respond to data-related incidents, minimizing operational disruption.
- Perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and enhance data quality.
- Document incident details, resolution steps, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
4. Data Management:
- Manage databases, perform queries, and resolve connectivity issues to ensure data availability.
- Work closely with data analysts and engineers to improve data governance and quality.
- Develop and maintain data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity.
5. Soft Skills:
- Apply analytical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve
- related issues effectively. - Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders to meet data project needs.
- Display flexibility and adaptability to address changing priorities and data requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- A strong background in Linux system administration, scripting, and data management.
- Experience in job scheduling (Control-M preferred) and release management.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in data analytics or data management.
Nice to Have:
- Basic knowledge of Ab Initio development and data governance principles.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with mainframe systems for data transfer and integration.
