Company overview: Pictet Technologies is the technology center of the Pictet Group, shaping the future since 2016. We are expanding our Java & AWS development team in Lisbon to build a strong community of specialists across locations and to support a leading independent wealth and asset manager.

Role description: We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with deep expertise in Java and Spring, including Spring Boot Data, Hibernate, and relational databases. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing robust, scalable solutions in AWS environments, and may work with Python and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). You will join a Scrum team and collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver
- quality software in line with sprint objectives.

In this context, your role will include:

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java 21, Spring Boot with Spring Data, Hibernate, or pure JDBC.
• Integrate and optimize solutions with Oracle or Aurora Postgre
  SQL databases.
• Ensure robust, secure, and scalable code following established architecture and best practices.

Cloud & Dev
Ops

• Build and deploy applications on AWS using services such as ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, and Cloud
  Watch.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to ensure reliable cloud environments.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance.

Python & Cross-Technology Development

• Handle Python developments for automation, data processing, or integration tasks.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure effective data integration and transformation between systems.

Collaboration & Support

• Work with
  - functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver features.
• Participate in troubleshooting, monitoring, and user support as part of the product team.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software development, cloud, and Dev
  Ops.
• Proactively suggest improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

Our ideal candidates should have:

Mandatory skills

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven backend experience with Java 21, Spring, Spring Boot Data, Hibernate, and JDBC.
• Strong command of relational databases.
• Proven experience deploying solutions in AWS (ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, Cloud
  Watch, etc. ).
• Proficient in Python for scripting and backend tasks.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure management.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Git
  Hub or Git
  Lab for version control.

Valued assets

• Experience collaborating with data engineering teams and integrating backend with data pipelines.
• Experience with AI tools or frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• AWS certification (Solutions Architect or Developer) is preferred.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Jira.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting solutions.
