Management Accountant

Our client, a global fintech company providing innovative payment solutions, is currently recruiting a Financial Accountant to join its Group Finance team in Lisbon.

This position sits within the Financial Control team, responsible for
- end close, preparation of financial accounts, and supporting the delivery of statutory audits. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role is ideal for a newly or nearly qualified accountant who has experience managing key
- end activities such as accruals, prepayments, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.

About the role:

• Prepare monthly journals for accruals, prepayments, leases, and payroll across multiple entities.
• Collaborate with other teams including Accounts Payable, Tax, Payroll, and Management Reporting to ensure smooth,
  -
  - end financial processes.
• Take ownership of key balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliations are completed monthly and any discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Provide P&L variance analysis and commentary for key cost areas, supporting financial
  - making.
• Assist in the preparation for annual external audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
• Prepare VAT returns and support
  - related reporting as required.
• Support the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller on
  - hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified (or nearly qualified), with several years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience in a management accountant or financial accounting role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles,
  - end close, and balance sheet management.
• Experience with
  - currency balance sheet reconciliations and
  - level reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Net
  Suite or similar accounting systems is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and organised, with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to meet reporting deadlines consistently and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
