Job Description
The Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting the International Wealth Management division by overseeing key financial processes, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. This role offers a
- ranging scope, allowing the Management Accountant to actively contribute to process improvements, enhance financial systems, and engage in strategic initiatives, including the integration of potential M&A targets.
Job Responsibilities
Manage all accounting transactions and journals entries
Preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare budget forecasts
Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Prepare all consolidation output and templates for Group reporting
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Ensure timely bank payments
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
Audit financial transactions and documents
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Report to regulators (CMVM)
Qualifications
6+ years experience as an Accountant, preferably in the Financial Services Industry
Registered as CC in Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) (Certified Accountant Order)
Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
Degree in Accounting, Finance or related subject
Experience with preparing management accounts
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, IFRS, US GAAP is a plus; IFRS (German) is a plus
Hands-on experience with accounting software like Primavera (experience with Net
Suite is a plus)
Advanced MS Excel skills
Experience with general ledger functions
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Proven multitasking experience, working with multiple tight Group Reporting deadlines
Experience of
- currency environment
Ability to work independently
Fluency in English is essential
Fluency in German is a plus
