Join Datadog as a Manager I, Engineering - APM SDK Capabilities. APM is a critical part of Datadog’s observability platform, enabling developers to understand how their services behave in production.

The APM SDK Capabilities team builds the core infrastructure that underpins all tracing libraries, ensuring a smooth, consistent, and predictable developer experience. As the Engineering Manager for APM SDK Capabilities, you will lead a senior, polyglot team and partner with APM and Open
Telemetry product teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a polyglot team of 5-7 engineers and partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to deliver
  - leading capabilities
• Drive adoption of key features like runtime metrics and startup diagnostics
• Shape the strategy and execution for APM configuration management
• Contribute to Datadog’s presence in the Open
  Telemetry ecosystem

Requirements

• An experienced Engineering Manager with a track record of shipping
• Experienced in two or more languages and comfortable building
  - runtime systems
• Passion for libraries and OSS software development
• Deep experience working on or with observability tooling
• You care about developer experience, clean APIs, and reliable systems
