Manager I, Engineering Lisboa

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our Design Systems team. You-'ll maintain, grow and scale our design system to ensure efficiency and accessibility across our product ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with functional teams, including designers, engineers, and product managers, to deliver solutions that delight our users.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse group of 5-6 Engineers, leveraging influence and humility to grow individuals and elevate the
  - 's quality of work.
• Provide thoughtful technical feedback to develop the
  - 's skills and ensure alignment with Datadog-'s engineering standards and best practices
• Partner with our Design counterpart team, Product, and Engineering teams to understand needs, implement design components, and evangelise the value of design systems.
• Define a technical roadmap that aligns product goals with our
  - 's mission, enforcing a culture where every design decision centers on user needs.
• Lead the scaling and maintenance of a large, product design system, and advocate for the team as trusted partners for usability best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews and some coding.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the design system and related processes.

Who You Are

• Experience: You have experience in people management of Front End-focused engineering teams. Bonus: you have experience in developing and scaling design systems, and/or with a deep understanding of - based design patterns.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, whilst delivering
  - quality software products.
• Collaboration: Experience working in
  - functional teams, with a track record of building effective partnerships with engineers, product designers and product managers.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong technician, particularly with Typescript, React and CSS, who is interested in remaining a
  - on leader
