Desk is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Markets Reporter to join our dynamic newsroom.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cryptocurrency markets and a proven track record in financial journalism. This role is responsible for covering
- moving developments in the digital asset space, providing
- time reporting, and producing
- depth analysis on market trends, price movements, and key industry players. The anticipated working hours for this role will be 12:00pm - 9:00pm CEST.
What You Bring:
- Cover breaking news and market developments in the cryptocurrency and digital asset space, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major tokens.
- Write and publish daily market updates, news stories, and features that explain complex market dynamics and their significance to our readers.
- Monitor a wide range of sources, including
- chain data, social media, regulatory filings, and traditional news outlets, to identify and report on
- moving events and emerging trends. - Develop and maintain a strong network of sources, including traders, analysts, developers, and industry executives, to generate exclusive reporting and scoops.
- Analyze market data and conduct research to provide insightful commentary on price action, trading volumes, and investor sentiment.
- Collaborate with editors and other reporters to coordinate coverage, brainstorm story ideas, and ensure all content adheres to Coin
Desk's high journalistic standards. - Write with a clear, concise, and sophisticated voice, explaining the "what" and the "why" behind market events.
- Contribute to Coin
Desk's newsletters, podcasts, and video content as needed.
What You Have:
- 3+ years of experience as a financial journalist, with a strong focus on market reporting.
- Demonstrated expertise and a genuine passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
- Experience covering traditional financial markets (e. g. , stocks, bonds, commodities, forex) is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools for content generation, research, analysis, and transcription, and a solid understanding of the ethical considerations and best practices for their use in journalism.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a
- paced environment. - A proven ability to develop sources and deliver original, impactful reporting.
- Familiarity with
- chain data analysis and an understanding of key metrics. - Strong collaborative spirit and a
- do attitude. - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Finance, Economics, or a related field is a plus.
Note: This position will be based in the UK/EURO region and will be required to work onsite 2-3 days per week at our local offices in London, Lisbon, or Frankfurt. Required days onsite are at the discretion of the hiring manager and may be adjusted based on business needs. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK or an EU member state at the time of application or be able to obtain the right to work prior to their start date.
