Offer Description

The NOVA National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon, has opened an offer position for 1 Master Research Fellowship, within the scope of the within the scope of the R&D project Joint Action on CARdiovascular diseases and Diabetes (JACARDI),
- funded by the European Commission, under the following conditions:

Scientific area: Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or related areas

Requirements:
a) Degree in the Scientific Areas of Health Sciences, Social Sciences or related areas;
b) Experience in managing or participating in projects working with populations experiencing vulnerabilities;
c) Mastery of the Portuguese and English language, both spoken and written;
d) Immediate availability;
e) Enrollment in a degree granting or
- degree course.

Preferential factors:
a) Participation in international projects;
b) Skills in collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data;
c) Knowledge and experience in participatory methodologies;
d) Experience in facilitating group sessions;
e) Experience in organizing events;
f) Co-authorship of scientific publications, especially articles in indexed journals, and communications at scientific events;
g) Organisational capacity and autonomy.

Work plan:
a) Operational preparation of the project in its different components (ethics, conceptual, methodological, organizational aspects);
b) Collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data;
c) Mobilization and involvement of diverse actors in a network;
d) Organization and implementation of the field work;
e) Writing reports, scientific articles, and other necessary documents.

Workplace and scientific supervision: The work will be carried out at NOVA National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon, under the scientific supervision of Professor Sónia Dias.

Duration of the Research Fellowship(s): the duration of the research fellowship(s) will be for 3 months, starting in September/October of 2025. The research fellowship can be renewed up to the maximum provided for in the Research Scholarship Regulations of NOVA University Lisbon.

Monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the fellowship is 1 309, 64€ (possibly higher, depending on the demonstrated technical and scientific competencies), according to the values for research fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal. In addition to this amount, there is the payment of personal accident insurance and the payment of voluntary social security.

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation (100%) in case there is no need for an interview. If an interview is considered necessary, both components will be weighted: Curriculum evaluation (70%) and interview (30%).

c) Documents proving that the candidate meets the conditions required for the respective type of fellowship, namely proof of enrollment and registration in a cycle of studies or
- degree course and/or proof of academic qualifications required for the type of fellowship, if applicable.
