CEBAL - Centro de Biotecnologia Agrícola e Agro-Alimentar do Alentejo opens a call for one research fellowship for a person with Master degree in the scope ofthe Associated Laboratory (LA) “CHANGE- Global Change and Sustainability Institute” (LA/P/0121/2020), funded by the LA program of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Skills/Qualifications

Master’s degree in the areas of Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Biological Science, Biochemistry or related areas.

Specific Requirements

Admission Requirements

i) Master’s degree in the areas of Agricultural Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or related areas;

ii) Previous experience (at least 3 year) of laboratory practice in Molecular Biology, and In vitro Culture;

iii) Driving license;

iv) Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese

v) Enrollment in a Master course or course that does not award an academic degree and it is integrated with the educational project of a higher education institution, performed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units. The presentation of enrolment proof is mandatory for the signing of the contract.

v) Not to exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.

Competences and Preferential Factors

- Experience in laboratory work in the plant and microbiology areas;

- Experience in data analysis, namely data processing and visualisation, and statistical analysis, using R software.

- Good oral and written communication, analytical and organisational skills;

- Proactivity, dynamism and team spirit;

- Driving licence and own vehicle.

Applicants must comply with the eligibility conditions established in Article 9 of the FCT I. P Research Fellowship Regulation (Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da FCT I. P (2019).

Selection process

Selection methods:

The first phase comprises the Curriculum evaluation. The weight of the Curriculum evaluation factors are as follows:

i) Academic Qualifications - 30%

ii) Professional experience – 30%

iii) Experience and profile adequacy regarding the workplan and the project – 40%

The jury may consider the need to conduct an individual interview with the best placed candidates. In this context, the final grade is obtained by the weighted average of:

i) Academic Qualifications – 30%

ii) Experience and profile adequacy regarding the workplan and the project – 40%

iii) Individual interview – 30%

Deadline and submission form of applications

The tender is open from 30. 06. 2025 to 11. 7. 2025.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents:

ii) Academic degree certificate. Certificate degree duly recognized in Portugal;

vi) Declaration on honor that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions;

Vii) Certificate or diploma of communicative competence in Portuguese from the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages that proves proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese at the common reference level B1 or higher for candidates of foreign nationality, except those from Portuguese-speaking countries.

viii) Documents proving the awarding of academic degrees and diplomas, or the according to recognition - in cases of academic degrees or diplomas granted by a foreign higher education institution.

Announcement/ notification of the results:

The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.

If the decision to be taken is unfavorable to the granting of the requested scholarship, the candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the disclosure, to express their opinion, if desired, in a prior hearing, under the terms provided for in the Code of Administrative Procedure.
