Care Partner is a scientific and healthcare expert in the field to foster a new way of adding value to the Health System, and therefore impacting patients’ lives with a specific focus on engaging in
- level scientific exchange, building and maintaining peer‑to‑peer relationships with external experts, understanding and uncovering unmet medical needs, generating relevant insight, and driving field implementation of innovative projects or solutions related to an AZ Lung cancer setting.
Tasks Will Include
- Comprehensive understanding of the Health
Care System pathways regarding the lung cancer setting. - Active mapping of initiatives and insights from the Health
Care System that can contribute to the improvement of patient pathways. - Proactively drive and/or support sustainable system transformation for patient management.
- Work in a cross‑functional team as a medical‑scientific expert in the lung cancer therapeutic area.
- Help develop the medical strategy and its implementation within the framework of the integrated plan, based upon insights from the external medical environment.
- Prepare, manage, execute, and follow a tailored field medical and communication plan aligned with the lung cancer therapeutic area.
- Build and maintain peer‑level relationships with key external experts to support understanding of the Portuguese healthcare ecosystem and clinical dynamics, and engage with the medical/scientific community in a highly credible, balanced, and objective manner, representing Astra
Zeneca’s dedication to and excellence in science. - Support local, regional, and global Astra
Zeneca clinical research programmes and externally sponsored research projects. - Foster opportunities to create real‑world evidence data generation projects in collaboration with the medical and X‑FT team.
- Partner with other internal stakeholders to provide medical‑scientific contribution on account work.
- Help set up and provide medical‑scientific training and further education in your therapeutic area for the sales force and other AZ personnel.
- Organise and execute field medical and communication plans.
- Support the Medical Governance Team (Medical Information/Patient Safety) in handling external medical and scientific requests.
Profile
- University degree in a health‑related scientific field.
- Good understanding of oncology, preferably in a lung cancer setting.
- Professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially in a field medical role or within Medical Affairs.
- Lung cancer therapeutic area experience within clinical research will also be considered.
- High level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyse and process clinical and scientific data.
- Experience liaising with healthcare professionals.
- Project management skills (preferable).
- Knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Portugal (preferable).
- Quick self‑learner, willing to work in a team and independently.
- Communicative competence and presentation skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to a broad audience.
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written Portuguese.
- Very good command of written and spoken English.
