Job description

Unilabs is an international group that has been present in Portugal since 2006 and is currently the leading provider of medical diagnostic services. It is part of a European group leader in this area and is present in 14 countries. As part of its growth and expansion, it is currently recruiting a Medical Physics Expert in Radiology for the Medical Physics Department.

Due to the expansion of our services, we are advertising for 1 Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Diagnostic Radiology. We are looking for certified MPE providing compliance with national legislation,
- motivated and with a good background in image/procedure optimization, Quality Assurance and radiation protection/safety, to work in the Unilabs Portugal Medical Physics Department.

Responsibilities:
- Patient dosimetry assessment;
- Physical measurements for evaluation of the dose delivered to the patient and other individuals subject to medical exposure;
- Give advice on medical radiological equipment;
- Provide support for the following:
(a) optimization of the radiation protection of patients and other individuals subject to medical exposure, including the application and use of diagnostic reference levels;
(b) definition and performance of quality assurance of the medical radiological equipment;
(c) acceptance testing of medical radiological equipment;
(d) preparation of technical specifications for medical radiological equipment and installation design;
(e) surveillance of the medical radiological installations;
(f) analysis of events involving, or potentially involving, accidental or unintended medical exposures;
(g) selection of equipment required to perform radiation protection measurements;
(h) training of practitioners and other staff in relevant aspects of radiation protection.
