Role Summary
You will lead the design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems for a hyperscale data centre project in Portugal. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex design packages in a
- paced EPCM environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full MEP design lifecycle from concept through to commissioning
Lead coordination between mechanical, electrical, and public health disciplines, ensuring seamless integration with architectural and structural elements
Manage external consultants and internal design teams to deliver compliant, resilient, and
- effective solutions
Ensure designs meet international standards and local Portuguese regulations
Drive the implementation of Df
MA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) principles
Support procurement and construction teams with technical input and design clarifications
Maintain design schedules, risk registers, and quality assurance documentation
Collaborate with BIM teams to ensure accurate and timely model development
Engage with client representatives and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals
Lead technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience
Proven track record in delivering
- scale data centre projects
Strong understanding of
- critical systems including HVAC, LV/MV power distribution, UPS, generators, and fire protection
Experience working in EPCM environments with
- speed project delivery
Proficiency in Revit, Auto
CAD, and BIM coordination tools
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in English; Portuguese language skills are a plus
Willingness to travel regularly to site
