INESC MN is seeking expressions of interest for a potential MSc Junior Research Assistant (pursuing a Ph
D is not mandatory) or a Ph
D position in microelectronics circuit design. This opportunity will be formalized only if strong and motivated candidates are identified. 
Potential Research Topics
- Design and optimization of analog/mixed‑signal circuits for various sensor applications
- Neuromorphic electronics for neural interaction
- Microelectronics circuit design for industrial sensing applications
- Exploration of innovative approaches to combine memristor technologies with advanced bio‑inspired computational models
Work to be Developed
- Participate in the group's research activities
- Design, simulate, fabricate, and test CMOS integrated circuits
- Implement known/tested topologies in other technologies (porting)
- Mentor BSc and MSc students
- Write reports
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Solid academic background in analog/mixed‑signal circuit design, CMOS technology, and microelectronics
- Interest or experience in sensing systems, neuromorphic systems, memristor technology, or neuro‑inspired electronics
- Motivated to work on multidisciplinary challenges at the intersection of electronics and neuroscience
