In general, the person chosen for this position will be responsible for successfully implementing the electronics
- related tasks that INESC MN has in the UNLOOC project. Additionally, they will attend consortium meetings (both remotely and locally) which may demand international travel, prepare reports, and write scientific papers. The work may also entail supervising tasks performed by students, thus requiring a certain measure of leadership skills.
- Development of an integrated circuit for interfacing sensors in a lab on chip environment and device.
- Develop discrete electronics to test and validate the sensors and the designed integrated circuits.
- Develop software and firmware for the implemented system.
- Write reports, scientific manuscripts, and other documents.
- Support/supervise other researchers and students.

- Design and optimization of analog/mixed‑signal circuits for various sensor applications
- Neuromorphic electronics for neural interaction
- Microelectronics circuit design for industrial sensing applications
- Exploration of innovative approaches to combine memristor technologies with advanced bio‑inspired computational models.
Work to be Developed
- Participate in the group's research activities
- Design, simulate, fabricate, and test CMOS integrated circuits
- Implement known/tested topologies in other technologies (porting)
- Mentor BSc and MSc students
- Write reports
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Solid academic background in analog/mixed‑signal circuit design, CMOS technology, and microelectronics.
- Interest or experience in sensing systems, neuromorphic systems, memristor technology, or neuro‑inspired electronics.
- Motivated to work on multidisciplinary challenges at the intersection of electronics and neuroscience.
