Requirements

Research Field Technology » Biotechnology Education Level Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

• Experience in extraction of natural compounds (bioactives, pigments, proteins) from plant matrices;
• Experience in analytical methodologies including liquid and gas chromatography (HPLC, GC);
• Experience in bioactivity assays (antioxidant activity assays);
• Experience in new product development;
• Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team;
• Proficient use of the English language.

MSc with a minimum value of 16 in the scientific areas

Work place: The project will be developed at the Laboratories of the N atural Bioatives and Nutraceuticals Area of Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica , under scientific supervision of Cátia Carmo and Teresa Serra.

Fellowship Duration: The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1st November of 2025.

Applications will be accepted from 19th September until 10th October 2025.

Applications must be formalized with a motivation letter, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and diploma certificate. If the degree or diploma has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Portuguese Decree-Law 341/2007 of October 12, and any formalities established therein must be completed by the end of the deadline for the application.

Selection process

The selection of the candidates will be made according to the following:

- Academic training with a minimum of 16 values - 40%;

- Curriculum Assessment (CV) according to the admission requirements - 60%

Curriculum Assessmentwill be carried out according to the admission requirements. If the jury wishes, can proceed with interview.

The interview will be carried out for all candidates who have a Curriculum Assessment greater than 80%.

Thus, the final evaluation will consist of 90% of curriculum evaluation and 10% of the interview evaluation.

Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements will not be eligible.
