We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to join our nearshore team at Devoteam Portugal, working in close collaboration with Devoteam Belgium for one of their strategic clients in the HR and social security sector.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in mainframe environments and is capable of working independently while contributing to a collaborative and
- oriented culture.

What You Will Do

• Develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications (both batch and online)
• Collaborate with functional analysts and end-users to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and performance issues
• Write and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in code reviews and provide support during integration and deployment

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with COBOL
• Solid understanding of mainframe environments, including:
• CICS, JCL, DB2

Familiarity with tools such as:

• IDz, VSAM
• Strong analytical skills, autonomy, and a proactive
  - solving mindset
• Good communication skills in English and/or Dutch
