The Team:
The IT Services (ITS) team comprises around 100 IT professionals who maintain the technology enabling Hiscox’s operations and customer interactions.
The Role:
We are hiring a Network & Security Engineer to join our IT Services infrastructure team. The environment is dynamic, with evolving priorities. The ideal candidate is
- motivated, confident, and experienced in similar settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary technical contact for key areas, coordinating with stakeholders.
- Contribute to planning, designing, and delivering IT initiatives.
- Configure tools to automate infrastructure provisioning, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain system and infrastructure designs, policies, and documentation.
- Provide reports and proposals for improvements.
- Guide the adoption of new methods and tools.
- Lead migration towards a
- centric infrastructure management model. - Support escalation for
- line infrastructure support. - Proactively manage infrastructure to minimize disruptions and improve service quality.
- Manage
- line support for infrastructure platforms per service levels and standards. - Identify and eliminate technical debt as part of continuous improvement.
- Drive
- making and promote Agile practices within IT. - Mentor team members and support change initiatives.
Person Specification: Essential Technical Skills:
- Experience with Cisco networking (Nexus/Catalyst switches, wireless controllers, DNA Center, etc. )
- Familiarity with Zscaler suite, SD-WAN (Versa), Azure networking, DNS (Infoblox, Azure DNS)
- Infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, GIT)
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) with Juniper and Cisco routers
- Load balancers (F5, Net
Scaler ADC) - Relevant certifications (CCNP Enterprise, DCACI, Azure AZ-700, PCNSE, CCSE) are advantageous.
