The Opportunity

We’re seeking a News Reporter to join our
- winning editorial team. The ideal candidate is a proactive and tenacious journalist with a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3 industries. You will be responsible for breaking news, producing
- depth features, and providing insightful analysis that helps our readers understand the
- paced and complex world of digital assets. This is a chance to work at the forefront of a groundbreaking industry and contribute to the leading publication in the space.

What You Bring:

• Generate and pitch original story ideas across a variety of areas of the crypto economy(e. g. , decentralized finance, regulation, NFTs, venture capital).
• Monitor markets,
  - chain data, social media, and other sources to identify and report on breaking news developments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct interviews with key industry players, including founders, developers, investors, and regulators, to gather information and build a network of trusted sources.
• Write clean, compelling, and
  - researched news articles, features, and analysis pieces that adhere to Coin
  Desk's high editorial standards and style guide.
• Work closely with editors and other reporters to ensure comprehensive coverage and collaborate on major stories.
• Maintain a strong understanding of macroeconomic trends and their potential impact on the crypto market.
• Contribute to multimedia content, such as podcasts, video segments, and live events, as needed.

What You Have:

• Proven experience as a reporter or journalist, preferably with a focus on finance, technology, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and the broader digital asset landscape.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex technical and financial topics into clear, accessible language for a broad audience.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English is required.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• A track record of breaking exclusive news and developing a strong network of sources.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a
  - paced news environment.
• Familiarity with online content management systems and social media platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools for research, data analysis, and transcription, and a solid understanding of the ethical considerations and best practices for their use in journalism.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Economics, or a related field is a plus.

Note: This position will be based in the UK/EURO region and will be required to work onsite 2-3 days per week at our local offices in London, Lisbon, or Frankfurt. Required days onsite are at the discretion of the hiring manager and may be adjusted based on business needs.
