SUMMARY
Operates the Nuclear Medicine equipment and ancillary support systems to perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures per provider orders. This is in accordance with approved techniques, policies, and regulatory standards as established by regulatory agencies, and standards and policies set forth by the organization. In accordance with NRC regulations, assumes responsibility for all radioisotope utilization, storage, and safety. Adheres to the professional standards of the NYS Department of Health and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

ATTRIBUTES
- Required:
New York State Department of Health Licensure, Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), New York State License - Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board
- Experience:
2 years as a Radiologic Technologist, 2 years as a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Registered with ARRT
- New York State License - Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clarify procedures in the administration of radioactive drugs
- Monitor the radioactive drug in the patient's system using nuclear medicine equipment, including scanners and computer systems, and image results for interpretation
- Maintain proper stocking, safekeeping, and disposal of radioactive drugs following safety and regulatory standards
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients, family, and staff;
verify status perdepartment and regulatory standards - Follow organizational standards including patient identification, education, consent, order verification, and infection control
- Participate in QA/QC procedures, maintaining standards related to equipment, image quality, documentation, and radioisotope reporting
- Maintain and report regulatory information and documentation to the Radiation Safety Officer and Committee

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly;
requires frequentwalking, standing, or squatting.
PAY RANGE:
$34. 56 - $51. 26. This range reflects current potential pay for a successful
- time applicant and may be adjusted in the future. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
