Offer Description
Work Plan: The candidate will be actively involved in the scientific and monitoring activities of the project. In particular, the candidate is expected to perform the following functions:
- i) Formulation of optical
- based hybrid gels and respective processing using techniques such as film coating, spin coating, drop casting, blow spinning and/or others; - ii) Characterization of hybrid gels using methods such as optical microscopy, mechanical testing, rheometry; stability and biocompatibility;
- iii) Optimization of formulations for deposition on different substrates, waterproofing, and mechanical robustness;
- iv) Production of reports and technical and scientific documents related to the project.
Fellowship duration: The Scholarship will have a duration of 9 months, starting in November 2025. The scholarship contract may be renewed within the duration of the project.

- vi. Declaration of honour attesting to the commitment to enroll in a
- degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, if selected for the award of a scholarship and accepts the award of the same. (in the application phase it can be replaced by a declaration of honour as stated in point no. 2);
Note: For academic degrees conferred by a foreign higher education institution, it is mandatory to submit the record of the recognition of the academic degree and the conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese scale (process regulated by Decree-Law No. 341/2007, of 12 October), or alternatively, to obtain equivalence/recognition of academic degrees (process regulated by Decree-Law No. 283/83, of 21 June).

Candidates must be enrolled in a
- academic degree course. The documents proving this situation must be submitted, at the latest, until the contracting phase of the scholarship, and before that they may be replaced by a declaration of honor.
In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and in order to ensure the application of the principle of equal treatment to candidates who hold foreign and national academic degrees, it is mandatory to recognize these degrees and convert the respective final classification to the Portuguese classification scale. The documents proving this situation must be submitted, at the latest, until the contracting phase of the scholarship, and before that they may be replaced by a declaration of honor.
Not exceed, with the conclusion of this scholarship contract, the maximum duration of one year, when the scholarship has been awarded to graduates or masters who are enrolled in study cycles that do not confer an academic degree.
Specific Requirements
Preferred factors: We are looking for a candidate with a passion for science, enthusiasm for applied and interdisciplinary research, interest and experience in the areas of biomaterials preparation, characterization and sustainability, and being an excellent team member. Previous experience in participating in research teams and projects will be considered favorably, as well as a good command of the English language.
Additional Information
Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The Scholarship amount corresponds to €1309. 64, based on the table of scholarship values awarded directly by FCT, I. P. in the country, with the payment made monthly by bank transfer.

Selection process
Selection criteria:
1st phase:
A. Scientific merit - 50%;
B. Motivation and experience relevant to the development of the project - 30%.
C Suitability of the candidate's profile for the project - 20%
All applications will be evaluated on a scale of 0 to 20 values.
2nd phase: The three candidates with the best ranking in the 1st phase of selection, of more than 16 values, will pass to the selection interview phase and the selection methods will be as follows:
a. the. Classification of the 1st phase - 50%;
b. Interview - 50%

Candidates who do not obtain a minimum grade of 18 values, as a result of the jury's evaluation according to the selection criteria, will not be hired.

Form of advertising/notification of results: The evaluation results proposed by the juri will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list. After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by
- mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the
