About The Job

RISK Operational Risk Management (RISK ORM) CIB belongs to the second line of defence of BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Bank (CIB). It is part of the Risk Function (RISK) of BNP Paribas and reports to the Head of RISK ORM CIB, who reports to the CRO of CIB.

The CIB Business and RISK ORM CIB are evolving to incorporate Digital Assets (DA) and related technologies across various business activities. This role will serve as a second line of defence for DA projects, overseeing and supervising associated risks. The objective is to ensure appropriate risk management efforts are in place, raise alerts if issues threaten the bank's stability, and influence partners to make sound risk decisions.

Your Main Activities Are

The Operational Risk Officer (ORO) – Digital Assets specialist is a risk manager with three primary responsibilities. The candidate is expected to:

1. Coordinate oversight of DA-related risk management activities with Business line OROs in Global Markets, Global Banking, and Securities Services, extending collaboration to functions and ITO.
2. Act as the central technical expert for DA risk management issues.
3. Coordinate with Group RISK ORM teams on DA risk management.

Profile And Skills To Success

The ideal candidate will be an expert in digital asset technologies with experience navigating this complex, evolving landscape within a regulated financial institution. You will help develop and implement a tailored operational risk framework for digital assets, ensuring strong controls and mitigation strategies.

This role requires a strong leader with excellent influencing and negotiation skills, capable of managing and coordinating efforts across various embedded operational risk officers.

The Role Requires

• Deep expertise in Digital Assets: blockchain, cryptocurrencies, tokenization, smart contracts, De
  Fi, and related infrastructure.
• Financial Services Knowledge: understanding of corporate and institutional banking products and operations.
• Leadership and coordination skills to influence and collaborate with risk managers and experts.
• Strong listening and analytical skills to quickly reach
  - focused conclusions.
• Effective communication skills in English; basic French is a plus.

Competencies

• University master’s degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Experience in roles such as Front/Middle/Back Office, IT, Operations, or Functional areas.
• Knowledge of banking products in Corporate and Institutional Banking is preferred.
