About the Role

• Within the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) business, RISK ORM CIB Global Markets (GM) is the 2nd Line of Defence in terms of operational risks related to Global Markets activities.
• The team is represented worldwide and in EMEA across Paris, London, Lisbon, and Porto.
• Algorithmic trading involves significant inherent risks, including technical defects and regulatory non‑compliance.
• The specialist will manage all operational risk aspects of algorithmic trading across the Global Markets business lines to ensure adequate risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor emerging risks by analysing historical incidents, market developments, new activities, technical developments, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide risk opinions in relevant committees, on risk and control self‑assessments, new activities, and structural and organisational changes.
• Perform independent testing on processes and controls regarding algorithmic trading.
• Communicate and liaise with stakeholders, including operational risk officers, business owners, and management.
• Follow and apply internal rules, policies, and guidelines, including the operational risk management framework.

Profile & Skills

• Education: Master’s Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting / Business Management or related.
• At least 7 years of experience in Banking and Financial Operations or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience in Risk and Controls or similar.
• Advanced level of English, both written and oral.
• Knowledge in:
• Global Markets related products and processes.
• IT technologies and processes.
• Operational risk management and the 3 Lines of Defence model.
• Legal and regulatory requirements regarding algorithmic trading.
• Active listening.
• Ability to collaborate / teamwork.
• Analytical ability.
• Communication skills, both written and oral.
