Operations & HR Trainee (Leadership Support)
Overview
MAN Truck & Bus, a leading European commercial vehicle manufacturer and part of the TRATON Group, is launching a new Global Business Services (GBS) organization structured around three core pillars: Operations, Global Process Ownership, and Strategy & Performance Management.
Role Description
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain
- on experience in a dynamic, international business environment. The Trainee will support the Management Team of the newly established GBS organization in Lisbon, with a particular focus on the Directors of Operations and the Head of HR. The role is designed to provide exposure to strategic
- making, operational excellence, and people management practices.
Responsibilities
Support Organizational Setup:
- Assist in documenting processes, workflows, and operating models as they are defined and implemented.
- Help coordinate onboarding plans and infrastructure needs for incoming teams.
Project & Initiative Support:
- Track progress of key
- up initiatives (e. g. , hiring waves, office setup, systems implementation). - Prepare materials for leadership reviews, steering committees, and internal communications.
HR & People Operations:
- Help organize recruitment campaigns, onboarding sessions, and employee engagement activities.
- Support the development of HR policies, templates, and internal documentation.
Operations Design & Coordination:
- Assist in mapping and documenting the evolving team structure within Operations, including roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines.
- Help prepare materials for organizational design workshops and leadership reviews.
- Help define and document operational processes, governance models, and escalation paths.
- Assist in creating templates and tools for service reviews, operational reporting, and issue tracking.
Administrative & Communication Support:
- Take meeting notes, follow up on action items, and maintain shared documentation spaces.
- Draft internal communications and help manage content for intranet, newsletters and/or social media.
Learning Goals
- Understand the foundational steps in building a GBS organization from scratch.
- Learn how operations and HR functions collaborate to scale a business.
- Gain exposure to strategic planning, execution, and change management.
- Develop skills in project coordination, stakeholder communication, and business documentation.
- Experience working directly with senior leaders in a
- paced,
- growth environment. - Build a strong understanding of corporate culture development and employee experience design.
Qualifications Required
- Recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory. German is a plus.
- Strong interest in organizational design, operations strategy, and HR practices.
- Excellent analytical and
- solving skills; ability to work with data and translate insights into motivational messages. - Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and Power
Point); familiarity with collaboration platforms like Share
Point, Teams, and Planner is a plus. - Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently in a
- paced environment. - Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
