ROLE PURPOSE
As Operations Technical Authority – Technical Safety, Region 2, you are responsible for supporting the unit operations with technical input to the prevention and mitigation of Major Accident Events which pose a major risk to personnel, assets, the environment, and the company's reputation. Your main role is to act as the Technical Safety focal point for offshore and onshore teams in your region. You own the SECE assigned to your discipline for the region, provide risk input and guidance to other Operational Technical Authorities, and promote technical integrity, process safety leadership, and a positive safety culture among the operations team.
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
In your role, your main responsibilities include:
- Setting, maintaining, and assuring the Performance Standard for SECEs within your discipline;
- Monitoring competence and compliance through inspections of units and contractors;
- Owning and maintaining Formal Safety Assessments supporting safe operations;
- Making decisions on the ongoing suitability of SECEs;
- Supporting Operational Risk Assessments for hazardous scenarios;
- Providing technical input to regional management on significant risks;

Cs and Process Safety Critical Information, planning for milestones requiring resources; - Supporting technical analysis, developing To
Rs, and assessing consultants for Safety Assessments; - Guiding other OTA’s on Safety Assessment outcomes;
- Monitoring Process Safety Performance and reporting progress;
- Defining objectives for Process Safety Management in collaboration with regional teams;
- Assisting in Safety Case planning and revisions, supporting key risk studies;
- Providing training on process safety processes and studies;
- Performing Process Safety audits;
- Leading Tier 1 and Tier 2 Process Safety Events investigations;
- Sharing best practices and developing safety initiatives;
- Acting as the process safety interface with other organizations;
- Promoting and developing Process Safety Culture through campaigns and awareness sessions;
- Contributing to Process Safety training and communication campaigns.
Additional activities may include:
- Deputising for the Regional Process Safety Manager and OTA2;
- Supporting Safety when required;
- Supporting HSSE and Facilities teams;
- Attending client and internal safety audits.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education:
- Engineering or similar Degree in Process Safety, Chemical, Environmental, or Technical Safety, or relevant operational experience with Process Safety qualifications.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas / FPSO Operations;
- Strong technical or Process Safety Management experience;
- Valid offshore medical certificate, BOSIET/HUET required;
