INEGI - Instituto de Ciência e Inovação em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Industrial is a Technology and Innovation Centre (CTI) focused on research, technological innovation, technology transfer, consultancy, and technical services to develop industry and the economy.

Context: INEGI is opening a call for applications for a Ph
D Researcher in Physical Oceanography, under an exclusive dedication contract to carry out research activities in Robotics. The contract is
- term, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), under the scope of the LAETA project UIDB/50022/2020.

This position aims to support research in autonomous vehicles, focusing on:

• AI developments for autonomous vehicle operation, including planning, execution control, and human operator assistance.
• Dissemination of knowledge and strategies for AI-supported autonomous systems.
• Training of young researchers and doctoral students.
• Exploitation of research results within national and international projects, impacting sectors like Mobility, Space, Ocean Economy, and Defence.

Funding details and employment conditions are specified, including a monthly remuneration of €3, 238. 44, based on regulatory tables.

Eligibility requires a Ph
D in Physics or Physical Oceanography, with experience in project management, autonomous systems, supervision, and strong communication skills in Portuguese and English.
