D) in Geophysical Sciences and Geoinformation (Meteorology branch). Part‑time 60% salary (indefinite duration fixed‑term employment contract) to support projects E‑REDES and VEGAEDP. Permanent work location: Institute Dom Luiz, Campo Grande, Lisboa, Portugal.

Admission Requirements

• Hold a doctoral degree in Geophysical Sciences and Geoinformation (Meteorology).
• Ph
  D awarded within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated scientific assessment of climate data and related extremes.
• Advanced knowledge of Python for large‑volume climate data analysis.
• Scientific publications in peer‑reviewed journals on the specified topics.
• Experience providing climate services to stakeholders.
• Experience in climate action projects.
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).

Work Plan

• Process and analyse climate data, extreme events and their impact on the electrical grid.
• Assess concurrent extremes and grid faults.
• Prepare for and attend project meetings.
• Prepare reports and publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and other outlets.
• Participate in dissemination, communication and stakeholder engagement activities.

Contract Details

• Start date: 16 December 2025.
• Duration: 9 months, or until the work plan is completed.
• Gross monthly salary: €1, 410. 92 (60% of the agreed level for an Initial Stage Researcher).
• Annual holiday and Christmas allowances and food allowance as per Portuguese labour law.
• Contract is part of a partial‑time (60%) employment arrangement.
