The British School of Lisbon (BSL) is seeking a passionate, dedicated and highly motivated qualified Physics Teacher to join our team in January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious and
- thinking school with a truly international community. For suitably qualified and experienced candidates, a
- term contract is available (until the end of the 2026/27 academic year), with the possibility of annual renewal thereafter.

Successful Applicants will have / are

• A certified teaching qualification.
• A subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
• Exceptional subject knowledge.
• A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
• Experience of teaching Science (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) in Key Stage 3.
• Experience of teaching Biology in Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE).
• Experience of teaching Chemistry in Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE).
• Experience of teaching Physics in Key Stage 4 (I/GCSE).
• A high level of written and spoken English.
• Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Collaborative and able to work as part of a team.
• Inter-culturally aware with
  - developed interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including
  - curricular activities.

It is desirable that candidates have / are

• UK trained with a certified teaching qualification, such as B. Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent (PGCE/PGDE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree).
• At least 3 years experience of teaching in the UK.
• Ability to teach Physics in Key Stage 5 (AS/A Level).
• Experience of teaching Biology in Key Stage 5 (AS/A Level).
• Experience of teaching Chemistry in Key Stage 5 (AS/A Level).
• Experience of teaching in an international setting.
• Child protection trained.
