Plant & Customer Quality Engineer (M/F/D)

Warner is looking for a dynamic,
- driven Plant & Customer Quality Engineer to join our team at the new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Overview

Role focusing on quality engineering for plant and customer interfaces, ensuring product and process quality in collaboration with production, customers and internal teams.

Plant Quality

• Support the introduction of new products and processes, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
• Lead problem solving activities for internal and external quality issues (8D, Ishikawa, 5Whys) ensuring effective resolution.
• Keep production quality KPIs updated (PPM, Scrap, FTQ, RPPM, Block stock, Quality Claims).
• Work with production and manufacturing teams in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to reduce defects and increase efficiency.
• Train and support production teams on quality best practices and
  - solving methodologies.
• Ensure PDT (temporary deviations) are in place for each product or process deviation.
• Plan and analyze statistical process data to ensure the stability of manufacturing processes.
• Define and validate control plans to ensure product quality is aligned with customer requirements.

Customer Quality

• Responsible for PPAP documentation and responsible for annual project requalification.
• Participate in customer meetings and plant visits related to quality issues, acting as the main point of contact.
• Monitor and analyze quality indicators such as PPM, RPPM, Scrap, and FTQ to ensure products meet defined quality standards.

Other Responsibilities

• Comply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standards.
• Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule.
• Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules.
• Respect and comply with environmental policy rules.
• Perform other duties and tasks on assigned special projects when needed for the period necessary.

Qualifications

Academic Background

• Degree in Engineering

Professional Experience

• Two or more years of experience as Plant Quality Engineer and/or Customer Quality Engineer (in automotive industry is a plus)

Hard/Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of
  - solving tools (8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP)
• IATF 16949 qualification (is a plus)
• Familiarity with industry standards (VDA 6. 3, ISO 9001)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience in working with customers to resolve quality concerns and improve product performance
• Strong analytical and
  - solving mindset
• Fluent in English
• Fluent in Portuguese
