Your Role

Kuehne+Nagel is embarking on an exciting journey to enhance operational excellence through implementing a Global Observability Platform. This platform will utilize Grafana LGTM (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) to create a unified observability solution that offers comprehensive insights into applications, services, and infrastructure
- wide.

Key Objectives:

1. Unified Monitoring and Analysis: Integrate logs, metrics, traces, and events into a single platform for a holistic view of system performance and health.
2. Enhanced Performance and Reliability: Ensure services operate optimally by quickly identifying and resolving issues.
3. Observability Culture: Promote a culture of observability by providing teams with the tools and knowledge to monitor and improve their services proactively.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist development teams in adopting best practices for observability.
• Instrument Java applications to enable comprehensive monitoring and tracing.
• Create and maintain tools to support the observability platform.
• Develop and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports using Grafana LGTM.
• Implement
  - service mechanisms for clients to create and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Establish governance frameworks to ensure effective use of the platform.
• Provide training and support to promote observability practices.
• Engage in infrastructure tasks, including working with Kubernetes and Terraform.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Basic knowledge of observability tools and techniques.
• Proficiency in Java and application instrumentation.
• Experience with containerized applications; Kubernetes deployment is a plus.
• Understanding of cloud environments and services.
• Strong
  - solving skills and teamwork ability.
• Interest in learning Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Passion for fostering a culture of observability and continuous improvement.
