In this IT role, you will manage, develop, and support the technology infrastructure that powers Kuehne+Nagel’s global systems and operations. Your work enables teams to deliver fresh fruit, time‑sensitive healthcare products, and more to people worldwide, supporting more than we imagine.
Key Objectives
- Ensure High Availability: maintain a fault‑tolerant, resilient Kafka‑based messaging platform on AWS EKS.
- Scale the Platform: enhance infrastructure to handle growing traffic and integrations; support load and stress testing.
- Enable Self‑Service: empower teams with Git
Ops automation and easy‑to‑use tools for managing authentication and data access. - Drive Operational Excellence: apply best practices for performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
How you create impact
- Maintain, scale, and enhance the Kafka ecosystem and related internal tools on AWS EKS, ensuring high availability.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Helm and Git
Ops (Argo
CD) workflows on AWS. - Manage Kafka clusters, topics, ACLs, and schema registries, promoting self‑service capabilities.
- Monitor and optimize message throughput, latency, and reliability across the platform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Git
Lab for infrastructure and configuration deployments. - Continuously improve platform performance, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Strengthen team expertise, uphold high‑quality standards, and contribute to technical and architectural decisions.
What we would like you to bring
- Proficient in Kubernetes (EKS preferred) for container orchestration and management.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Ia
C) using tools like Terraform, Helm, and Git
Ops practices. - Experienced with Kafka and its ecosystem (Kafka Connect, Schema Registry).
- Hands‑on with CI/CD pipelines using Git
Lab and Argo
CD. - Familiar with observability tools, especially the LGMT stack (Loki, Grafana, Mimir, Alloy).
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking, security, and IAM.
- Proficient in scripting and automation with Bash or Go; basic understanding of the Java ecosystem.
- Experienced in scalable, distributed systems, with strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
