About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate PMO Project Manager to join our Portfolio & Governance department within Springer Nature Technology. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio & Project Office, your goal will be to enable value acceleration across portfolios, ensuring a healthy,
- proof technical ecosystem with maximum quality and minimal risk.
You will be part of a distributed,
- functional team with diverse nationalities, backgrounds, and experience levels. Our team collaborates to deliver optimal results and fosters a culture of innovation within company guidelines aligned with Springer Nature’s vision and strategy.

About You
You are proactive, curious, and maintain a calm demeanor. You are willing to probe, question, and investigate challenges as they arise.
You will have:
- Experience managing projects through their full lifecycle, from proposal to delivery and beyond.
- Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A broad understanding of various project management methodologies and
- standard tools. - Experience facilitating teams in gathering and presenting information to communicate technical context to
- technical stakeholders. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and switch contexts quickly.
- Experience working in a PMO environment or understanding of its key functions.
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams including Developers, UX Designers, Business Analysts, and QA.
- Creative
- solving skills with attention to detail and strategic overview. - Ability to work with teams and translate abstract information, ensuring voices and challenges are heard and escalated.
- Experience working with sponsors to define scope, requirements, and constraints.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, capable of interacting at all organizational levels.
- Ability to navigate complex international corporate structures.
Additionally, you might have some or all of the following:
- Understanding of systems thinking and complexity.
- Ability to make progress amid ambiguity.
- Knowledge of change management.
- Understanding of technical processes and organizational structures.
- Experience with frameworks like OKRs for strategic planning.
About The Role
As a PMO Project Manager, you will lead projects supporting departmental objectives and broader technology and business initiatives. Your responsibilities include:
- Starting, shaping, leading, and delivering internal and external projects within scope, time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Providing ongoing PMO support, tracking risks, issues, and project health.
- Defining and tracking project goals, scope, success criteria, and deliverables.
- Managing risks and issues with mitigation strategies.
- Supporting departmental OKRs with aligned planning.
- Creating artefacts to communicate project status, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborating with sponsors to clarify requirements and focus on outcomes.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to facilitate
- making and keep them informed. - Securing stakeholder
- in and maintaining engagement throughout the project lifecycle. - Supporting demand management processes.
