Linguist (Portuguese—Portugal) – Contract, Remote

We’re looking for a Portuguese linguist to support language data work focusing on phonetic transcription . You’ll help ensure
- quality annotations and linguistic consistency across tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform phonetic transcription (IPA or similar) of PT-PT audio/text
• Annotate and review language data for accuracy and consistency
• Apply style guides and project rules; flag edge cases
• Collaborate with the lead linguist/PM on quality feedback

Requirements:

• Native-level fluency in Portuguese (Portugal)
• Phonetic transcription experience — coursework in phonetics/phonology at university counts
• Strong attention to detail; comfortable with deadlines and checklists
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting

Schedule & commitment (please read)

• 5 hours must be completed between the 1st and 10th of each month
• Plus ~1 hour per week for the rest of the month
• This is a very
  - time role, intended to be long-term and consistent
• Hours are generally flexible within those windows

Compensation:

• $20USD per hour
