We're looking for an exceptional Principal Optical Systems Engineer | Spectroscopy | Photonics | Deep Tech | Healthtech Startup to join our research team on our journey to revolutionize personalized medicine.

About your Role / What will you be doing?

• Lead, implement, and improve prototypes ready for production/outsourcing.
• Lead the development team focusing on spectroscopy and related optical technologies.
• Perform
  - on lab work for testing and verification of new designs.
• Collaborate with data scientists and bioclinicians to develop
  - aligned technologies.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Interpret experimental and performance data to meet goals.
• Specify and interact with vendors for custom components.

Job Requirements

• Strong expertise in applied physics, engineering, optics, photonics, or related fields, with experience taking prototypes to production.
• Proven experience in experimental settings, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Good analytical and mathematical skills.
• Hands-on experience with optics component characterization and product integration.
• Experience designing, building, and optimizing optical instruments integrating electronics, optoelectronics, fluidics, and automation.
• Experience working with ISO + QA standards.
• Ability to thrive in a
  - paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• Ph
  D or Master’s degree in Nanoscience, Physics, Physical Chemistry, or related field.
• +3 years industry experience in experimental or applied interdisciplinary science.
• Experience developing verified optical and/or spectroscopy methods.
• Experience collaborating with data scientists, bioclinical researchers, or engineers is a plus.
• Experience supervising researchers or engineers.
