Viator is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Product Manager to join our team!
In this role, you will be crucial in positioning Viator at the center of the Experiences ecosystem. You will help solve industry challenges by building unique capabilities and leveraging an open ecosystem through robust APIs. You will be part of a fun, energetic team where you can make an immediate impact and grow as a product management professional.
Your focus will be on developing capabilities in pricing, booking management, logistics, and inventory management, aiming to create an ecosystem that enables exponential value creation rather than a singular offering for one customer group.
Role Overview
The Principal Product Manager will define, develop, and manage our operator integration product, ensuring seamless connectivity between Viator and reservation systems. This involves strategic planning, roadmap development,
- functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of API technology and the travel industry.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the creation and implementation of the product vision and strategy for our operator integrations platform.
- Develop new features or enhance existing products to drive business growth, ensuring scalability and adaptability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product leadership to develop business cases for your product.
- Oversee initiatives across core platform areas like pricing, booking, logistics, and inventory management.
- Define and monitor success metrics and KPIs, tracking product performance and making adjustments as needed.
- Manage the product roadmap, prioritizing deliverables to meet business goals.
- Gather and analyze feedback from operators, reservation systems, and stakeholders to identify improvements.
- Partner with engineering, design, marketing, and operations teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance customer and operator experiences while streamlining processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive forces, and emerging technologies related to APIs and integrations.
Critical Skills
- Technical understanding of API technologies, RESTful services, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML).
- Proven experience in product management, including strategy, roadmaps, and lifecycle management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills for

- making. - Problem-solving ability to address complex technical and business challenges.
- Knowledge of the travel industry and reservation systems is a plus.
Must-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 7+ years in product management, focusing on API products and integrations.
- Experience working with engineering teams on
- scale API systems, understanding API standards, compatibility, lifecycle, and monitoring. - Ability to participate in technical discussions, challenge teams, and drive consensus.
- Experience decomposing platform solutions into milestones for rapid value delivery.
- Experience measuring platform impact and adapting strategies accordingly.
