Principal Software Engineer - Java

What you’ll do:

With the constant evolution of the architecture of the Atlassian ecosystem, mainly with Cloud and Forge, we need experts to help us build the next phase of our client apps. You’ll lead complex software engineering projects in the Atlassian ecosystem, from requirements analysis and architecture to deployment and evolution.

Drive technical excellence across teams. Set best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, version control, and scalable architectures.

Be a technical reference and mentor. Guide and support engineering teams in programming, scripting, and database technologies.

Work in Agile environments. Collaborate across teams to ensure time, budget delivery of value software.

Design and scale technical architectures.

Define the structure of software solutions, understanding both business needs and level constraints.

What we’re looking for:

• 8–10 years of on experience in software engineering.
• Strong expertise in areas like backend development, cloud, software architecture, or data engineering.
• Ability to define and communicate technical strategy across squads and stakeholders, aligning technology with business objectives.
• Familiarity with Dev
  Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines (e. g. , Jenkins, Git
  Lab CI, Bamboo).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing scalable and resilient distributed systems, including native architectures using Docker, Kubernetes, and service meshes.

More specifically:

• Strong expertise in Java
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Graph
  QL, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with React or similar languages.
• Experience with Relational databases.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience with Jira, and other Atlassian tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions.
• A solver mindset, eager to tackle challenges that make a real difference.
