Principal Mobile Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid)

What You’ll Do

• Lead the technical direction of mobile platforms (i
  OS or Android), defining
  - term architectural strategy in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Own and influence critical architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across products.
• Act as a subject matter expert across entire codebases, driving high standards for code quality, design, and testing.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to evaluate technical
  - offs and align platform decisions with business goals.
• Identify opportunities for technical innovation, evaluate new technologies, and lead strategic
  - wide initiatives.
• Set and promote best practices for mobile development, architecture, and testing.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineers, upskilling teams and contributing to a
  - performance culture.
• Make informed build vs. buy vs. partner decisions based on
  - term value and technical feasibility.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure consistency in delivery and to champion engineering excellence across the organisation.

What We’re Looking For

• Extensive experience in native mobile development, either i
  OS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Strong architectural knowledge and
  - on experience building scalable, performant mobile systems.
• A solid track record of technical leadership,
  - making, and driving
  - scale technical initiatives.
• Proven experience leading the design and delivery of complex,
  - critical applications.
• Ability to mentor engineers and cultivate a culture of engineering quality, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams and present ideas to technical and
  - technical stakeholders.
• Passion for learning and staying ahead of industry trends, tools, and practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience leading
  - platform or hybrid app strategy.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and mobile Dev
  Ops practices.
• Background working in
  - scale consumer product environments (e. g. streaming,
  - commerce, etc. ).
