We are looking for a Process/Mechanical Engineer to join the corporate industrial engineering team of a multinational automotive group. This role will be responsible for defining, harmonizing, and supporting the implementation of global technical guidelines related to assembly processes across the group’s various manufacturing plants.
The focus will be on the design and validation of production processes, adapting them to different products and ensuring compliance with best industrial practices within the automotive context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and disseminate global technical rules and standards for manufacturing processes (assembly, screwing, pressing, machine vision, etc. ).
- Provide technical support to the group's plants in the implementation of processes and production lines.
- Design and validate line layouts and flows in collaboration with local teams.
- Work with suppliers and integrators to evaluate technical solutions and process innovations.
- Participate in defining validation criteria and performance evaluation for new processes.
- Adapt processes to meet the specific needs of new products or engineering changes.
- Provide technical support and guidance based on
- on shop floor experience, although the work is primarily in a technical office environment. - Demonstrate and apply best process practices through real case examples (e. g. , "assembly chair").
Required Profile:
- University degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (or similar).
- Previous experience on the shop floor and/or in the development of industrial processes within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of assembly technologies: controlled screwing, pressing, machine vision, among others.
- Ability to work with multicultural and
- functional teams in an international setting. - Strong communication, organization, and technical documentation skills.
- Availability for occasional travel to the group’s manufacturing plants.
- Proficiency in English (minimum level B2); other languages are a plus.
Location: Cacia, Aveiro.
