The Role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Product Owner Manager to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Product Owners. Reporting directly to the Director of Product, you will be a linchpin in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of our product roadmap, while also playing a very active role in the evolution of the Product Owner discipline. Your primary focus will be two‑fold: delivery excellence and team evolution, providing hands‑on coaching and strategic guidance to shift the team's focus from a purely execution‑centric mindset to a holistic, product‑ and customer‑centric, outcomes‑focused approach.

• Ensure the squads have sufficient end‑to‑end product and analysis expertise to enable autonomy and ownership
• Support and help the product owners work with stakeholders to identify challenging problems and opportunities, analyse and understand current processes and systems
• Continue to develop strong knowledge of our platform capabilities and ensure they are enabled to execute their role effectively
• Facilitate the Product Community forums, structures, and mechanisms for product professionalisation, systems understanding, and analysis competency across the squads, with a focus on sharing experiences, knowledge and skills
• Ensure the quality and effectiveness of Product Owner activities across the delivery lifecycle
• Recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of Product Owners
• Work with Delivery and Senior Engineering Managers to ensure product owner alignment and development to broader Tribe delivery ways of working
• Support Product Owners and their squads in finding solutions to complex challenges by employing best practice product and analysis approaches whilst aligned to agile delivery methodology
• At times may be asked to support in a Product Owner capacity on initiatives that require product consultation, maintaining direct experience of the role
• Professional development of the Product Owners (coaching & mentoring, development plans, performance)
• Participate in leadership meetings and working groups at value stream and tribe level to provide subject‑matter expertise in Product, Platform capability and analysis approaches

What You’ll Be Doing

• People manager for Product Owners, focusing on coaching, pastoral support and career development
  • Leads PO career path and ensures all team members have development plans
  • Leads the evolution of Product Owner capability, connecting with Product Owner and Manager practices across Flutter
• Actively seeks out modern product practices and training opportunities to share in the product community forums, and reaches across organization and industry to identify best practices that can be brought back to team
• Facilitate the Product Community forums, structures, and mechanisms for product professionalisation, systems understanding, and analysis competency across the squads, focusing on knowledge sharing
• Sets high standards of execution through own actions and knowledge sharing with the wider team
• Gains trust and support of others, generous with time, advice and knowledge
• Communicates effectively & credibly across a wide range of channels and with Senior Stakeholders
• Acts as a collaborative leadership role model, seeking a variety of viewpoints when leading discussions, developing solutions or strategies
• Uses initiative to identify, take ownership of, and deliver against impactful issues or growth opportunities within their area
• Suggets enhancements in the company’s organization and strategy
• Challenges behaviours misaligned to company values and sets standard through own behaviours

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving skills
• Prior Product Delivery, Product Management & People Management experience
• Eye for continuous improvement needs and frameworks to enable improvement
• Experience working in software delivery and understanding the delivery process
• Ability to engage with and get the best out of people in teams
• Ability to work through a large set of unknowns and translate them into effective plans
• Experience of leading teams (or virtual teams) and developing talent

We’d Like You to Master In

• Knowledge of betting products and technology environments that enable these products
• Experience in Product Engineering domains in analysis, delivery, product lifecycle and support of products and capabilities
• Ability to ideate and create solutions that address challenges and opportunities for our customers
• Ability to work through a large set of unknowns and translate them into Product, Process or Tech requirements
• Ability to formulate and communicate strategy
• Experience of leading teams, coaching and developing talent
