Job Details:
Integrated within the Product Management Team and reporting to the Marketing Director (Mk
D), the Product Specialist will be responsible for defining product strategies for strategic major domestic appliances (MDA) categories, supporting the development of an annual plan to achieve business objectives and grow market share in Portugal.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct
- depth market and competitor analysis: perform field research through direct contact with retailers, assess product features, design, pricing and positioning. Includes monthly Gf
K analysis and benchmarking. Conduct market mapping and retail price research (online and
- store). - Benchmark the market to define the optimal product range and appropriate positioning, and to set pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the Mk
D, other Product Specialists and
- functional teams to define the most competitive and profitable product range. Manage the
- up of new models in collaboration with relevant departments and Regional Product Management, ensuring smooth product launches and phasing out of discontinued models. - Implement product category strategies, NPI (New Product Introduction) plans, and evaluate stock efficiency. Prepare, adapt and support product and marketing presentations, and develop materials required for retailers and the market.
- Ensure that all launched products comply with Portuguese regulations and are
- ready, including user manuals, certifications, safety standards, and product communication materials for
Sales and Retail teams.
- Monitor product profitability and implement improvement initiatives in coordination with the HQ Product Team, including
- saving projects and new product introductions. - Communicate introductions and discontinuations with factories and the Supply Chain team. Manage internal systems such as SAP, Teamcenter, and other platforms relevant to product management.
- Support Marketing operations as needed, especially with Product Communication, to uphold the Company’s image and that of its brands.
- Provide internal support for
- related queries, including spec sheets and customer setup documents. - Develop and deliver product training sessions for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure quick and effective resolution of
- related queries.
Requirements / Experience / Skills:
- Native/ professional level of Portuguese and fluent in English.
- 3–6 years of experience in product management, preferably in the Home Appliances industry (manufacturer, distributor, or retailer).
- Strong technical knowledge of MDA products and the Portuguese market landscape.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP Analyzer, Gf
K tools, and other digital/IT platforms. - Strong
- making and interpersonal skills; team player with a collaborative mindset. - Analytical thinking and a structured, organized approach to work.
- Cross-functional collaboration and interdepartmental coordination skills.
- Solid digital literacy, especially in market research and segmentation tools.
- Project management understanding.
- Good knowledge of the customer journey and consumer behavior.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e. g. CE marking, labeling, safety standards, user manuals, etc. ) applicable in the Portuguese market.
