Production Support Engineer

PRODUCTION SUPPORT ENGINEER – FOLLOW-THE-SUN MODEL (ON-SITE LISBON)

Portuguese company hires for an
- site position. Working Model: Lisbon, Portugal - On-site / Hybrid support model may apply depending on team schedule. Candidates must already live in Portugal.

Language Requirements: Fluent English and French

Experience Levels: 2-6 years of experience in IT development or application support

About The Role

You will join a global support team within GM IT APS Regulatory, working in a Follow-the-Sun support model to ensure high availability and reliability of production environments. Collaboration across regions and rapid incident response will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor and enhance performance & availability across production systems (application, middleware, DB layers)
• Provide escalation coverage in Follow-the-Sun model
• Manage capacity and performance of production applications
• Customize and enhance production tools (monitoring, batch scheduling, automation, deployment)
• Work closely with
  - functional teams to resolve incidents and restore services quickly
• Drive operational excellence by proposing performance and capacity improvements

Technical Requirements

• Hands‑on experience supporting Windows & Linux / Unix environments
• Solid knowledge of
• IIS, . NET, WCF
• Web
  Logic Application Server, Apache, Tomcat, Java EE
• Monitoring / scheduling tools experience (preferably one or more):
• Geneos, Introscope, Dynatrace, Autosys, Dollar Universe
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell, SQL)
• Good understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, release management)
• Database knowledge: SQL Server & Oracle

Language

• English: Fluent (mandatory)
