Program Manager Tools
Overview
As a Program Manager Tools & Methods at Körber, you will play a key role in shaping the future of solution design and engineering within our Automation business. You will lead the global rollout of our common layouting tool (Lay
Con), drive the development of critical 3D assets, and take ownership of a growing landscape of tools that support highly automated material handling systems. Your work will connect engineering, pricing, software, and downstream processes, enabling smarter, more integrated, and increasingly AI-supported solutions for our customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Manage the global rollout of the Lay
Con layouting tool, including planning, stakeholder alignment, asset development, and user training. - Ensure effective tool adoption by monitoring usage, supporting users, and driving adherence to guidelines.
- Gradually assume ownership of the full tool landscape for design and engineering, collecting and prioritizing change requests, managing access, and ensuring version control.
- Lead integration of the layouting tool into downstream processes such as pricing, simulation, PLC programming, and digital twin environments, ensuring a phased and sustainable rollout.
- Actively drive digitization by managing smaller AI-enabled or digital innovation projects in parallel with the main tool implementation, in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Manage smaller solution design tools (often Excel-based), ensuring structured version control, release management, and training.
- Track program budgets and progress, providing regular status updates to management and steering committees.
Qualifications
- Graduated from technical studies (Bachelor or Master) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical management field.
- Proven experience as a project or program manager in a complex organization, with strong change management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience in solution design processes within the material handling or adjacent industries (highly beneficial).
- Affinity with automated material handling solutions and knowledge of 3D CAD systems (Autodesk preferred).
- Strong analytical skills, a structured and
- oriented way of working, and the ability to manage complex tasks and processes. - Strong communicator and team player, able to motivate, train, and support colleagues across functions and regions.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Open to international collaboration and occasional travel (approximately 25%).
